Bedugul botanical gardens in the lake region of Bali with its famous high level rope course with its temple on lake Bratan; also visit lakes Buyan and beautiful Tamblingan. The gardens are good for mountain birds and plants.
Leave at 0700 after breakfast at 0630; you will proceed directly to The Botanical Gardens at Bedugul, the centre of the lake region of Bali. En route you will pass through much of South Bali and into the mountains and will view much development in progress. Bedugul is a mountain resort with a perfect climate. You will have coffee in the gardens where there is a popular rope course with seven levels (levels 1 and 2 for the young below 7; levels 3 – 7 in order of difficulty according to fitness and capability); well worth doing. The gardens are also of interest to botanists with many examples of plants of the region. Lunch will be at the restaurant near where strawberries are grown locally. After lunch you will be shown lakes Bratan (at Bedugul), Lake Buyan and Tamblingan on the road leading to the village of Munduk. These Lakes are the water source of Bali thus very precious; they need careful attention by all interested in the welfare of Bali as they are the start of 2,000 year of old “Subak” irrigation system. This system makes Bali a world leader in irrigation systems. You will return to the lodge via rice Fields and the sea. This tour gives you a feel for Bali and it’s unique Hindu based culture; also shows you the source of water in Bali and the mystical feel of this area in the mountains.
